Water opens 10 rapid charging stations at the same time in Jeju, the 'island of electric vehicles'

Electric Vehicle Rapid Charging Network Water has simultaneously opened 10 new charging stations in Jeju Island, which is at the forefront of the transition to electric vehicles in Korea.
Water announced that it has built rapid charging stations for electric vehicles at 10 key locations, including major tourist sites, public institutions, and research facilities in Jeju Island, and began full-scale operation on the 2nd.
The charging stations opened this time are △ Water Jeju Roe Roe Ecological Observatory (4 200kW rapid speed units) △ Water Jeju Regional Maritime Traffic Control Center Parking Lot (2 200kW rapid speed units, 4 7kW slow speed units) △ Water Jeju Gimnyeong-ri Public Parking Lot (2 200kW rapid speed units, 2 7kW acceleration units) △ Water Jeju Seogwipo Gangjeong Cruise Terminal (2 200kW rapid speed units, 1 7kW slow speed) △ Water Jeju Agricultural Technology Institute Field Crop Research Complex (2 200kW rapid speed units, 7 kW slow speed) There are 10 locations in total: Water Jeju Aewol-eup Office (200kW Rapid 2) △ Water Jeju Udo-myeon Office (200kW Rapid 2) △ Water Jeju Dongbaek Garden Tour Information Center (200kW Rapid 2) △ Water Jeju Daejeong Agricultural Complex Complex Complex Cultural Center (200kW Rapid 2) △ Water Jeju Marine Fisheries Research Institute Fisheries Seed Research Center (200kW Rapid 2 units).
Jeju Island has recorded the highest electric vehicle penetration rate among local governments in the country, and is a leading 'carbon free island' (Carbon Free Island) 'city with a rapid transition rate to renewable energy such as solar and wind power. Due to the nature of the region with high tourism demand, it is also a place where accessibility and utilization rate of charging infrastructure are important.
Water is building a nationwide charging network based on a “Water Thru (Water Thru)” connecting the driving axes of expressways and a “Water Belt (Water Belt)” two-track strategy connecting the city center and tourist hubs. In particular, these new charging stations were strategically placed at the center of major access axes and tourist routes so that electric vehicle users visiting Jeju can move around without worrying about battery discharge during the trip. It is expected that Jeju tourists, who use a rental car, will be provided with a simple “3-second charge” experience where charging starts as soon as the connector is plugged in, greatly reducing the stress of charging during their stay.
“Jeju is a global eco-friendly model city where renewable energy and electric vehicles coexist,” said Yoowon, CEO of the Electric Vehicle Charging Business Division (Water), and “Water will continue to invest in infrastructure so that electric vehicle drivers can enjoy a 'as comfortable as flowing water' charging experience anywhere in the country by expanding the charging network that began on an expressway to major tourist and living hubs such as Jeju.”
