The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) is launching a "tailored" threat alert service specialized for the core cyber assets of individual companies.
KISA and the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) said they are recruiting companies to participate in a trial run of the "Attack Surface-Tailored Threat Alert Service."
The service combines the threat information database accumulated in the Cyber Threat Analysis & Sharing (C-TAS) system with attack surface management (ASM) technology. It captures signs of threats to core infrastructure assets held by companies, such as IP addresses, service domains, and software, in real time and provides threat information directly relevant to each company.
KISA has provided cyber threat information to companies through C-TAS since 2014. However, because each company holds different assets and requires different threat information, limitations have been noted in quickly identifying threats directly linked to a firm's own environment. To address this, the agency has developed a tailored threat alert and real-time monitoring service based on a company's industry.
To verify the service's detection accuracy and operational stability, KISA plans to send demand survey emails to small and mid-sized firms registered with C-TAS during August and recruit companies for the trial run. Participating companies can use the service by registering their infrastructure assets, such as IP addresses, service domains, and software, with C-TAS.
"This attack surface-tailored threat alert service is significant in that it establishes a practical response system that supports the protection of companies' core assets, going beyond simply providing threat information," said Park Yong-kyu, head of KISA's Digital Threat Response Division. "Through the trial run, we will enhance the completeness of the service and continue to strengthen the foundation for preemptive cyber threat response that companies can tangibly feel."
