Kakao Enterprise said it appointed Lee Jae-han as its new chief executive officer, following an extraordinary shareholders' meeting and board meeting held on the 6th.
Lee has led the entire process from technology strategy formulation to commercialization, serving as head of the cloud infrastructure and digital transformation (DX) division and head of the business division. A former Kakao System Engineering leader who was responsible for designing and operating KakaoTalk's infrastructure architecture, he is credited with driving Kakao Enterprise's growth strategy based on capabilities spanning both technology and business.
Lee plans to stably maintain the continuity of Kakao Enterprise's core businesses, including artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and hybrid GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS). In addition, he plans to focus on further strengthening AI transformation (AX) capabilities to expand the customer base among corporate and public institution clients and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.
"In the new paradigm being created by AI, we are facing a major turning point where AI data centers, cloud infrastructure, and AI platforms are becoming increasingly important," Lee said. "In this important period of change, I will do my best to lead AI transformation based on Kakao Enterprise's cloud expertise and technological capabilities, and to drive change across industries as a whole."
