Shinsegae I&C is teaming up with KT (030200.KS) to jointly sell cloud products based on solutions from Nutanix, a U.S. cloud software company.
Shinsegae I&C said on the 4th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with KT to cooperate on the enterprise cloud business. Nutanix is a hybrid cloud platform company that integrates and manages corporate computing, storage, and network resources on a software basis.
Shinsegae I&C and KT respectively launched "Sparros One" and "Cloud Line" earlier this year, both based on Nutanix's cloud infrastructure software. Sparros One is a private cloud that reconfigures Nutanix solutions into Shinsegae I&C's service format. Cloud Line is an enterprise cloud service that combines Nutanix solutions with KT's telecommunications, network, and infrastructure capabilities.
Since both companies sell cloud products based on Nutanix solutions, they plan to pursue joint sales and identify business opportunities targeting corporate customers. The two companies will combine their technology and sales capabilities to provide hybrid cloud environments tailored to individual customer needs, and expand the scope of their cooperation into the high-value-added cloud market for future artificial intelligence (AI) businesses.
"Through this cooperation, we will support customers' cloud transition and provide the optimal hybrid cloud environment that combines telecommunications and infrastructure capabilities with cloud services," said Lim Gun-ho, senior vice president of KT's Data Service Division. Jung Pil-seung, head of Cloud BIZ at Shinsegae I&C, said, "By combining the capabilities of both companies, we will provide services optimized for individual customer needs and expand our reach into the high-value-added cloud business for AI operations."
