Krafton (259960.KS) said on the 23rd that it has completed a strategic investment in Neon Commerce, a global game commerce infrastructure company.
The investment was designed to help Krafton expand its points of contact with global users and strengthen a user-centered ecosystem. Based on the investment, Krafton plans to accelerate the development of its own payment system and enhance its global payment capabilities.
Neon is a global game commerce infrastructure company that supports game publishers in building, operating, and expanding user-facing ecosystems. It provides integrated support including a payment system that connects various payment methods into one, tax and regulatory compliance by country, and the establishment of online stores operated directly by game companies. Through this, it offers users a convenient purchasing experience and provides game companies with a service foundation to expand their direct contact with users.
Based on its cooperation with Neon, Krafton plans to internalize payment service capabilities and provide global users with a more stable and convenient purchasing experience. Going forward, it plans to enhance payment convenience based on its own payment service, while creating an environment in which it can directly provide users with various benefits and services.
"This investment is an important starting point for Krafton to strengthen its service foundation that connects directly with global users," said Thomas Ko, head of Krafton's Publishing Platform Division. "Based on the game commerce infrastructure provided by Neon, Krafton will offer a better purchasing experience and benefits, and expand a user-centered service ecosystem."
"Neon Commerce has focused on providing game companies with the scalability and flexibility they need to operate direct-to-user sales businesses," said Chris Fott, CEO of Neon Commerce. "The game commerce infrastructure we will build together with Krafton will become a new standard across the game industry in the future."
