Webcash (053580.KQ), a business-to-business (B2B) financial artificial intelligence (AI) agent company, said on the 22nd that it had signed a supply contract with IBK Systems worth approximately 8.7 billion won for the "IBK Digital Banking Rebuilding Phase 1" project. The project is the first step in a three-stage roadmap to overhaul the digital banking of Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), with its core focused on building a platform that will serve as the foundation for service expansion.
Webcash participated in the competitive bidding as part of a consortium with LG CNS and Finger. The company plans to proceed with building a digital platform, rebuilding i-ONE Bank Global, and constructing AI banking services. Once the platform is completed, it will be upgraded in stages.
Webcash, which declared its transition into a financial AI agent company last year, is pushing to convert its existing cash management solutions into AI agents and is expanding its business targeting financial institutions. Prior to IBK Systems, it signed a contract with NH NongHyup Bank to build an "AI Agent Banking Service."
"Based on the financial service development experience and technological capabilities we have accumulated, we will implement a stable and highly scalable digital banking foundation," Webcash CEO Kang Won-ju said. "We expect to successfully carry out this project and continue our cooperation in follow-up projects."
