A large-scale survival hackathon called the "AX Talent War," which evaluated only practical problem-solving skills using artificial intelligence (AI) rather than academic background or work experience, has been held.
Jocoding AX Partners, a company specializing in AI transformation (AX), said on the 20th that it completed the finals of the AX Talent War at "Workmore Yeouido Dangsan Station branch" in Seoul on the 18th of this month. Global AI company OpenAI participated as the official AI collaboration partner, providing support such as API credits for participants to carry out their tasks.
A total of 5,341 participants applied for the hackathon. Sixty advanced to the finals through the "AI Screening Agent," a five-stage precision scoring system developed in-house by Jocoding AX Partners and reviewed by OpenAI's technology.
Six companies representing their respective fields took part in the finals, including MyRealTrip, Musinsa, Meditherapy, Samil PwC, Channel Corporation, and Kakao Pay Securities. Working-level managers from each company directly designed and presented the problems that finalists had to solve, based on challenges they face in their own fields, and evaluated participants' problem-solving abilities.
On site, participants competed in a survival audition format, solving company-specific tasks and having their results verified one-on-one by judges. Key executives and working-level managers from each company unveiled secret tasks on site that day, heightening the tension and immersion in the venue. Judges comprehensively evaluated not only whether the answers were correct but also the process of interpreting the problem, the validity of the solution method, and the feasibility of actual application in the field.
For the final results, Yoo Jae-min (MyRealTrip) took first place, Cho Young-tak (Samil PwC) second, and Kwon Sang-yoon (Channel Corporation) third. Six participants who submitted excellent answers for each company and demonstrated outstanding performance were given the benefit of being immediately linked to separate interview and hiring processes.
Jo Dong-geun and Moon Kyung-won, co-CEOs of Jocoding AX Partners, said, "Through this final round, we confirmed that AI utilization capability is not simply a skill for quickly handling tools, but the ability to structure complex problems, verify results, and connect them to executable solutions." They added, "We will continue to create a new talent selection method that can discover and verify AI-native talent needed by companies in real-world environments."
