KT (030200.KS) said on the 20th that it will offer budget roaming products and localized partnership benefits for travelers to Southeast Asia during the summer vacation season.
Through October 31, KT is introducing its "Southeast Asia Budget Roaming" product, which can be used in six major Southeast Asian countries: Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. The Southeast Asia budget roaming plan is available for 25,000 won for seven days and provides 3GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls. After the basic data is used up, data can continue to be used at speeds of up to 400Kbps. KT explained that the plan was "configured with optimized capacity and pricing in consideration of demand from short- and medium-term travelers."
KT also arranged discount benefits in partnership with Grab to enhance travel convenience in Southeast Asia. The benefits apply to customers who subscribe to Shared Roaming, Y Shared Roaming, Budget Roaming and All-Day Roaming (Basic, Plus and Premium).
Customers visiting seven countries — Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia — automatically receive a Grab Travel Pass code via text message upon entry. After registering the code in the Grab app, customers can receive discount benefits worth up to 100,000 won when using ride-hailing, food delivery and mart shopping services. The benefits are provided until the prepared supply runs out.
Kang Yi-hwan, senior vice president and head of KT's Customer Service Division, said, "We planned this promotion so that customers visiting Taiwan and Southeast Asia during the summer vacation season can use roaming services at reasonable prices and also enjoy partnership benefits." He added, "We will continue to prepare various benefits so that customers can conveniently use roaming services overseas."
