SK AX said on the 9th that it is fully launching its "Manufacturing Robot Transformation (RX) Full-Stack Service," which supports manufacturers in adopting robots to achieve operational innovation. The service is characterized by one-stop support across all stages, from virtual verification before robot adoption to on-site autonomous control and integrated operation of the entire factory.
Before deploying robots on-site, companies repeatedly verify thousands of driving and work scenarios through a digital twin, simulating quality control variables, bottleneck sections, collision possibilities, and charging scheduling. Through this, they optimize robot control in real time and establish detour routes for unexpected situations as well as charging plans based on battery consumption rates.
Once robots that have completed virtual verification are deployed on-site, physical artificial intelligence (AI) based on the "VLA model" — which sees (Vision), understands (Language), and acts (Action) — is applied. While existing robots simply performed repetitive movements according to set rules, VLA-based robots recognize and judge unexpected obstacles or changes in the work environment on their own and actively adjust their working methods. Through this, the precision and continuity of work can be maximized even in unstructured manufacturing environments.
Ultimately, SK AX controls the entire process through a system that integrates and manages heterogeneous robots such as autonomous mobile robots (AMR), collaborative robots, and humanoids. It immediately reflects delays or anomalies in specific processes across the entire production operation and optimally adjusts robots' work instructions, routes, and flows.
The service is currently undergoing proof of concept in industries such as semiconductors and shipbuilding. Going forward, SK AX plans to continue expanding the service to various industry sectors based on verified demonstration models. Kim Kwang-soo, head of SK AX's Manufacturing Service Division, said, "Based on our capabilities in digital twin, physical AI, and integrated control of heterogeneous robots, SK AX will become an AX partner that evolves customers' factories into autonomous factories that never stop."
