Nexon will officially launch its PC service for "Overwatch," developed by Blizzard Entertainment, starting Aug. 12.
Nexon will handle domestic publishing of the PC version of "Overwatch," which is ahead of its Season 4 update, the company said Tuesday. The company plans to fully roll out live services and business operations tailored to the Korean market. In particular, Nexon plans to further strengthen its domestic "Overwatch" service by offering customized content and PC bang (internet cafe) services for Korean users.
Ahead of the launch, pre-registration account-linking will run through Aug. 11. Users can log in with their Nexon account on the official event page, complete identity verification, and link their own Blizzard Battle.net account. Once linking is completed, all play records from existing accounts—including cosmetic items such as skins and sprays, various currencies, and progress—will be maintained. After the official service begins, the game can be played through Nexon.com and Nexon Plug in addition to the existing Battle.net launcher.
Users who maintain their pre-registration account-linking status until the service launch will receive various rewards. At the time of the official service launch, users will be given one "Nexon Legendary Loot Box," which guarantees four legendary skins, along with "Splash Surfer D.va," a new legendary skin for "D.va," and 20 Mythic Prisms. In addition, they will receive a "Nexon Mari" profile card, a player icon, five legendary loot boxes, and a special player title.
