Krafton (259960.KS) will host an artificial intelligence (AI) hackathon, "COPA-thon: AI Native Battlegrounds," together with CJ Olive Young, the company said Wednesday.
Participant recruitment runs from Wednesday through the 17th, and the hackathon will be held on the 30th at PUBG Seongsu in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. The recruitment targets include talent with experience implementing outcomes using AI, job seekers preparing for development roles, and junior developers. Non-developers who can structure and solve real problems based on development knowledge and the ability to use AI tools can also participate.
Winners will be provided with a total of 10 million won in prize money, along with the benefit of passing the document screening for Krafton's FDE and Olive Young's AI engineer positions.
This hackathon will be based on "COPA-Prove," an AI-native recruitment and evaluation solution developed by Krafton. Participants will perform two practical tasks set separately by Krafton and Olive Young. The Krafton task takes the form of discovering and solving field problems while interacting with a virtual working-level manager.
The Olive Young task evaluates the ability to use AI to solve problems in the retail field where customers, products, and data are combined. Both tasks focus on how to resolve inefficiencies in actual work using AI.
"COPA-Prove" is an evaluation solution that virtually implements the actual working environment of AI engineers. By structuring and evaluating not only participants' outcomes but also their problem-definition methods, AI utilization processes, iterative improvement processes, and result verification methods, it supports evaluators in comprehensively assessing participants' AI-native capabilities.
The event will also feature lecture and networking sessions. The lecture and networking sessions will include lectures by current employees of Krafton and Olive Young, as well as a panel talk involving the human resources (HR) teams of both companies.
Park Jae-min, head of Krafton's AI Frontier Division, said, "Talent evaluation in the AI era must be able to see the entire process of using AI to define and solve problems and verify results." He added, "This hackathon will be a stage where participants prove their capabilities through the way they work with AI, and an occasion for companies to confirm a new standard for evaluating AI-native talent."
