Hyundai AutoEver (307950), the systems integration (SI) affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group (005380), has established its first labor union.
The Hyundai AutoEver union launched Wednesday and joined the National Chemical, Textile and Food Workers' Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions as a branch, according to the information technology (IT) industry. The union also announced its launch through an internal notice under the name of the labor union preparatory committee.
In its founding declaration, the union pointed out that the company's current personnel evaluation standards are unfair and that an organizational culture that fails to respect employees is widespread. In particular, the union is reported to have criticized management for not conducting sufficient consultations with employees during major company policy changes, including the abolition of remote work last year.
The union is known to have presented four demands: disclosure of the criteria used to calculate personnel evaluations and compensation systems, the establishment of objective personnel evaluation standards, labor-management agreement when changing systems, and guaranteed job security based on trust in personnel management.
