Naver Pay is upgrading its service into a lifestyle-focused real estate platform that incorporates interior design, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital twin technology, moving beyond simply providing property listings.
According to the information technology (IT) industry Monday, Naver Pay newly launched an "Interior" section within its real estate service earlier this month. The feature displays interior renovation cases registered on the real estate platform "Asil" by linking to them.
Users can view information broken down by floor size, space, and renovation type, and can immediately request quotes from contractors. For complexes without data, a "recommended portfolio" of similar conditions is provided.
Search convenience on the property map has also been significantly improved. A criterion based on exclusive floor area has been added, and searches by entrance structure, such as stairwell-type or corridor-type layouts, are now possible. In addition, the map now allows users to see at a glance information on nearby lifestyle amenities such as academies, department stores, and pharmacies, as well as information on retail spaces and new housing complexes.
The "Real Estate VR (Virtual Reality) Listing and Complex Tour" service, which uses three-dimensional (3D) technology, is also expanding its scope. As a kind of "online site visit" feature that lets users explore complexes and property interiors online, it stands out by providing specific information that can normally only be obtained by visiting in person, such as the location of each building, sunlight exposure by season and time of day, and detailed interior dimensions. It is also linked with property listings within complexes registered on Naver Pay Real Estate, so that during a VR complex tour, users can directly check properties listed for sale or for jeonse (a Korean lease system requiring a large lump-sum deposit instead of monthly rent) and monthly rent for each apartment building.
Naver Pay plans to expand the number of target complexes from around 280 currently to 600 by the end of this year. Going forward, it plans to introduce Naver Labs' AI technology "Duster," which reconstructs a space in 3D from just two or three photos, so that users can create VR tour content on their own using only photos taken with their smartphones.
Changes to the way property listings are searched have also been signaled. Naver Pay plans to install a real estate search function on Naver's conversational search service "AI Tab" in the second half of the year. The plan is to further enhance user convenience alongside its "AI Home Finder" service, which finds optimal listings when users enter their desired conditions in natural language.
"We plan to continue upgrading our real estate service by combining Naver's AI and digital twin technology," a Naver Pay official said. "We will improve our map service so that users can grasp all information at a glance from home on PC and mobile without having to visit sites in person."
