Fortinet Korea, a global network security convergence solutions company, is providing cybersecurity consulting for early-stage and growth-stage startups.
Fortinet Korea said Friday that, together with D.CAMP, a startup foundation run by the Korea Center for Career Innovation of the banking sector, it will operate a cybersecurity training and consulting program for startups starting on the 14th of this month.
While the spread of AI technology has increased the importance of cybersecurity, startups have limited capacity to respond. Taking this into account, the program is built around the concept of "Today, Your Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)," addressing from a practitioner's perspective the security issues that startups must review during their growth stage. Any early-stage or growth-stage startup can participate.
The first session will be held as an online live webinar on the 14th of this month. Under the theme "Security Basics That Startups Easily Miss in the AI Era," it plans to cover data risks when using generative AI, basic security checkpoints in cloud and SaaS environments, and security priorities in small organizations.
The second session will be held as an offline seminar on the 23rd of this month at D.CAMP Mapo in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It will feature a case-based Q&A session and networking on topics such as security for organizations with few developers and data protection for AI-using startups. The first three attendees who participate in both sessions will be separately offered one-on-one customized consulting.
"The faster AI adoption progresses, the greater the security risks startups face, but the reality is that the earlier-stage a company is, the more limited its resources for security are," said Kim Young-pyo, CISO of Fortinet Korea. "I hope startups can review the security priorities that suit their current situation and find directions they can practically apply to their work."
