SK Telecom (017670.KS) said Monday it has published its first "Information Security White Paper 2025." The company disclosed on its website its information security and personal data protection activities aimed at safeguarding customer trust amid a changing cyber threat environment.
The white paper is the first official report to transparently document the major activities and achievements SK Telecom has pursued since last year to re-examine its information security framework from a company-wide perspective, prevent the recurrence of hacking, and restore trust. The white paper consists of three parts: information security governance, information security architecture and technology, and personal data protection.
"We explain information security not as an individual technical task but as a 'company-wide execution framework,' and we have included our perspective on what standards and systems companies should use to respond as security responsibilities and scope expand due to changes in the AI, cloud, and supply chain environment," a company official said.
SK Telecom said that, marking the publication of this white paper, it plans to more actively share its information security activities with stakeholders and to continue improvements to raise the level of protection that customers can experience firsthand. Lee Jong-hyun, head of the Integrated Security Center (CISO), said, "Information security must evolve into a structure that can continuously verify and respond to changing threats." He added, "Through responsible and transparent execution, we will build an information security framework that customers and society can trust."
