Hancom has supplied its artificial intelligence (AI) document-writing solution "Hancom Assistant" to Korea Western Power.
Hancom said Monday it has built a smart document-writing environment by integrating Hancom Assistant into Korea Western Power's generative AI chatbot "WeepyBot."
The project marks the first case among power group companies to combine proprietary generative AI with a commercial AI document-writing solution and apply it to company-wide operations. Korea Western Power conducted a proof of concept (PoC) with Hancom starting in October 2024 and decided to adopt the solution this year.
Hancom Assistant is linked with approximately 720,000 pieces of internal knowledge data held by Korea Western Power, including company regulations, laws, work manuals and safety materials. Employees can now use relevant regulations and work information in real time during the report-writing process.
Hancom has recently been expanding its AI transformation (AX) business targeting public institutions and companies. Earlier this year, the company won the first phase of the National Assembly Big Data Platform (AI National Assembly) project and supplied "Hancompedia" and "Hancom Assistant," and this month it completed the construction of an AI knowledge search system for BGF Group.
Hancom changed its name from "Hangul and Computer" in May and announced it would transform into a global sovereign agentic operating system (OS) company. Kim Yeon-soo, CEO of Hancom, said, "This project is a case of combining proprietary AI capabilities with Hancom's AI technology in the public power generation sector," adding, "We will respond to AI transformation demand centered on public institutions and corporate clients and expand the data sovereignty-based AI platform market."
