LG Uplus said Thursday it is running a promotion offering up to a 45% billing discount to customers who pay for generative artificial intelligence (AI) service subscriptions on the Google Play Store using "mobile payment."
The promotion runs through July 7 and covers four major generative AI services, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. During the period, customers who select "LG U+ Payment" on the Google Play Store to pay their monthly subscription fee and apply on the event page can receive a billing discount of up to 45% of the payment amount, with a maximum discount of 5,000 won.
The discount is provided as a billing discount rather than deducted immediately at the time of payment. Customers can confirm whether it has been applied through the "Content Usage Fee" item on their August 2026 telecommunications bill.
However, the discount conditions, eligible services and detailed precautions must be verified based on the event page, and actual application may vary depending on each customer's usage conditions.
LG Uplus said it is running the discount promotion to respond to rapidly growing demand for generative AI services, lowering customers' subscription cost burden while expanding the experience of using mobile-based simple payments.
"As the use of AI services spreads throughout daily life, subscription costs and payment convenience are emerging as important factors," said Ahn Byung-kyung, head of AI business at LG Uplus. "We plan to continue expanding payment environments that customers can use easily and practical cost-saving benefits."
