Naver (035420.KS) has obtained certification for ISO 22301, an international standard management system for business continuity, the company said Monday.
ISO 22301 is awarded based on an evaluation of management systems that ensure business continuity through rapid recovery of operations when work is interrupted by disasters. With the certification, Naver, together with Naver Webtoon and Naver Cloud, was recognized for establishing a disaster response management system from a company-wide perspective.
Naver has established response processes by disaster type, including storms and floods, earthquakes, terrorism and fires. The company has organized detailed recovery procedures based on company-wide service recovery priorities to ensure service continuity, while pursuing various efforts.
Going forward, Naver plans to conduct regular disaster recovery drills based on its business continuity plan (BCP) and carry out continuous improvement activities to secure service stability. It also plans to enhance the infrastructure stability of its response system by conducting in-house training and campaigns to raise employee awareness of the business continuity plan.
"Amid various types of disasters such as terrorism and fires, in addition to natural disasters including earthquakes, storms, floods and heavy snow, Naver has fulfilled its responsibility as a platform company and advanced its response system for service continuity," said Yoo Bong-seok, Naver's Chief Risk Officer (CRO). "Through the BCP Committee, we will regularly inspect company-wide crisis response governance to further enhance service stability."
