
TMAP Mobility has unveiled the concept of its next-generation "3D lane-recognition navigation" designed for the autonomous driving era for the first time.
TMAP Mobility presented the new navigation concept at "NextRise 2026," Korea's largest startup exhibition, together with Renault Korea, the company said Thursday. NextRise is Korea's largest open innovation event, bringing together domestic and international companies, startups, and venture investors. It runs for two days at COEX in Seoul, from Wednesday through Thursday.
At a dedicated booth, TMAP Mobility is demonstrating a futuristic 3D lane-recognition navigation demo and showcasing a 3D driving concept video.
The 3D lane-recognition navigation unveiled this time features a seamless transition from the existing 2D map to a 3D map when the vehicle enters a serviceable section while driving. By rendering the actual driving environment three-dimensionally, it improves the visibility of various traffic information such as junctions and entry and exit ramps.
Since last year, TMAP Mobility has been developing 3D-based lane-recognition navigation optimized for future autonomous driving environments, based on its own high-definition road map (HD map). Commercialization is targeted for 2027. The company plans to begin the service centered on highways and expressways nationwide, then expand its coverage to major urban areas.
In the future, the company plans to integrate ADAS sensor recognition into the 3D map and implement lane-level route guidance linked to in-vehicle precision positioning technology.
"Navigation is evolving into a key interface through which the vehicle, the driver, and passengers understand their surrounding environment," said Kim So-hee, Future Mobility Leader at TMAP Mobility. "Based on our own HD map technology, TMAP Mobility plans to continuously advance its 3D lane-recognition navigation service optimized for the future mobility environment."
