DeepL, a global AI translation company, announced Tuesday that it will acquire the team and technology of MixHalo, a real-time ultra-low-latency audio platform.
DeepL's real-time AI voice translation solution, DeepL Voice, is currently used in various real-time voice translation settings, ranging from virtual meetings to face-to-face communication. DeepL plans to integrate MixHalo's ultra-low-latency audio infrastructure into DeepL Voice to support large-scale live environments. As a result, the platform is expected to deliver fast and clear real-time translated audio and subtitles while maintaining a natural flow of speech, not only at events with dozens of participants but also at large events involving tens of thousands of people.
MixHalo was co-founded in 2016 by Mike Einziger, guitarist and composer of the American rock band Incubus, violinist Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger, and technology expert Vic Singh. Based on ultra-low-latency technology, it delivers synchronized high-quality audio to thousands of listeners simultaneously. It is used at various sports, entertainment, and brand events, including MLB, NASCAR, and Equinox.

Meanwhile, the announcement also included news of DeepL's first San Francisco branch opening. DeepL plans to further strengthen its local business foundation through the establishment of the branch.
