
LG CNS (064400.KS) has signed a business agreement with LX Pantos to build a next-generation robot-based smart logistics system, the company said Tuesday. Under the agreement, LG CNS will establish a logistics automation system combining humanoid robots and shuttle robots at LX Pantos's MegaWise Cheongna logistics center.
LG CNS plans to verify the automation of the entire logistics center process by linking humanoid robots and shuttle robots. Under the system, a shuttle robot retrieves items scheduled for shipment from the warehouse, and a humanoid robot receives the items and loads them onto automatic sorting equipment. LG CNS will train the robots based on LX Pantos's extensive logistics field data. The company will use its own robot training platform "PhysicalWorks Forge" for robot training and its integrated control platform "PhysicalWorks Baton" for robot operation.
For robot hardware, the project uses a wheeled humanoid robot developed by Dexmate, a U.S. robotics startup, and LG CNS's logistics robot "Mobile Shuttle." The Mobile Shuttle moves within warehouse shelves at a speed of 1.5 meters per second and can load and transport up to 1,500 kilograms of goods per unit.
Through this collaboration, LG CNS plans to reduce the burden of repetitive tasks at LX Pantos's logistics sites and create a stable working environment. The two companies plan to build a TDL Lab, a demonstration space showcasing the logistics automation process, in the second half of this year. They will also pursue the commercialization of logistics robots for external customers in the future.

"We will contribute to improving productivity and operational efficiency at logistics sites together with LX Pantos."
