Samsung SDS (018260.KS) said Wednesday it will strengthen its cloud security capabilities through business partnerships with U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) security startup Xbow and domestic cloud security firm Tatum Security.
Samsung SDS plans to reinforce its security framework across all areas of cloud information technology (IT), including AI-based vulnerability detection, integrated cloud security monitoring, and security incident response. The collaboration with Xbow will focus on expanding AI-based vulnerability detection capabilities for corporate clients' web-based IT assets. Samsung SDS expects to use Xbow's AI technology for penetration testing to quickly identify vulnerabilities in corporate clients' web services and information assets and take follow-up measures. By preemptively addressing such vulnerabilities, the company aims to stably secure service availability and lower the likelihood of potential security incidents.
Through its partnership with Tatum Security, Samsung SDS will also enhance an integrated security monitoring system suited to multi-cloud environments. Using Tatum Security's technology, the company plans to provide integrated security monitoring to corporate clients operating in various cloud environments. Corporate clients can view the security status of multiple cloud assets at a glance and identify anomalies and risk factors early to prevent security incidents. Samsung SDS plans to expand the scope of its cooperation with Tatum Security going forward, including the joint development of cloud access and privilege management services.
In addition, as a managed security service provider (MSSP), Samsung SDS plans to strengthen its capabilities for responding before and after security incidents. The company will provide a security incident response service that takes swift action when a corporate client suffers a security incident, preventing additional losses and supporting analysis of the cause and the establishment of measures to prevent recurrence.
"By combining global leading technologies, locally tailored solutions, and Samsung SDS's operational know-how, we will respond preemptively to new security threats," said Jang Yong-min, executive and head of the security business team at Samsung SDS.
