SK Telecom said Friday it will hold its "2026 Gold Number Promotion," raffling off 10,000 gold numbers.
Gold numbers refer to phone numbers with specific patterns, such as repeating sequences like 1111 or 0002, numbers in which the front and back four digits are identical, like ABCD-ABCD, and numbers with special meanings, such as 1004. These numbers are popular because they are easy to remember and can carry personal significance. Among them, the "ABCD-ABCD" type, in which the digits following the exchange number are identical, and the "AAAA" type, in which the last digits are the same, are highly sought after.
Through this raffle, SK Telecom is offering subscribers the chance to own a total of 10,000 gold numbers. SKT provides the opportunity to own a total of 10,000 phone numbers carrying special meaning through the drawing. Applicants can enter across a total of nine types, with each person able to apply for up to three numbers. The gold number promotion is open to existing SK Telecom customers, those planning to newly subscribe to SK Telecom, and customers of other carriers and budget mobile services planning to switch their numbers.
Applications can be submitted from the 8th to the 21st of this month through SK Telecom's official certified dealers and the T Direct Shop, with winning results available starting on the 25th. The drawing is conducted at random in the presence of the Preferred Number Drawing Committee, which is composed of government and related agencies including the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA).
However, gold numbers cannot be transferred to others after winning. In addition, customers who are already using a gold number or who have a history of obtaining a gold number in previous years cannot apply.
