An artificial intelligence (AI) tool built by a Korean newsroom is being used by journalists around the world.
Seoul Economic Daily has launched "ainova.news," opening up "AI NOVA," its engine that assists reporters in writing articles, for journalists worldwide. Equipped with an "automatic recognition" function that detects the input language and automatically matches the output language, the tool can be used in any language.
AI NOVA has turned six types of tasks frequently performed by journalists into 12 services. For example, the headline recommendation service offers a choice between "T-Headline_Basic," which suggests headlines across five categories when an article is entered and the enter key is pressed, and "Headline_Creative," which proposes seven creative headlines. It also provides the "Buddy_Daily" tool, which turns even a single word or simple content entered by reporters into a story proposal, and the "Buddy_Article" tool, which drafts an article when reporting material is entered.
A revision function that refines one's writing is also available, with users selecting "Revision_Short" for texts under 1,000 characters and "Revision_Long" for texts of 1,000 characters or more, depending on the length of the article.
The core competitiveness of this service lies in its prompting (AI instruction) know-how. It has been continuously updated through more than 300 projects, and depending on the project, prompts can exceed 10,000 characters. Compared to soccer players, general AI models perform at an elementary school level, Claude Opus 4.8 at a university student level, and well-prompted projects demonstrate the skill of a national team player.
In addition, AI fortune-telling and horoscopes for readers, Korean news learned through games, and reader-customized English audio news are also available. The company plans to use AI to continuously create various forms of content that combine with articles, moving beyond simply delivering articles. At the same time, it plans to supply the AI LINK ecosystem not only to other news outlets but also to companies.
