Naver (035420.KS) is launching an AI fellowship program to explore synergies between content creators and artificial intelligence (AI).
Naver said Thursday it has started "Naver Mate," a program that spotlights creators with topic-specific and differentiated expertise across its user-generated content (UGC) services, including Blog, Cafe, Knowledge iN, and Premium Content.
Each month, Naver will showcase about 3,000 creators based on the number of citations in AI Briefing, spanning the top 10 categories such as travel, lifestyle, and tech, and 25 sub-topics including health, parenting, film, and automobiles. Naver plans to run the Naver Mate program as a beta for one year, actively gathering creators' feedback to diversify the program.
Going forward, Naver plans to expand the scope to "Clip Creators," broadening its foundation to identify UGC creators across various formats, including text, images, and video.
Selected creators will have an official emblem applied to their profiles and content, and Naver will also provide about 20 billion won in annual activity support. Recipients receive a base activity fee of 300,000 won per month, while top creators in each of the top 10 fields receive an additional 3 million won per month, and the leading creator in each field receives an additional 10 million won per month.
"Even in the AI era, we will strengthen the ecosystem so that creators can produce better content," said Lee Il-gu, head of Naver's Content Service Division. "We will ensure this trend leads back to strengthening creators' influence and revenue."
