TVING, a Korean online video streaming service, said member personal information was leaked due to unauthorized access, the company announced on its website.
The leaked personal information includes member IDs, names, dates of birth, gender, phone numbers and email addresses, according to TVING on Saturday. While the company said it "holds resident registration numbers and valid payment-related information," it did not disclose the specific scale of the breach.
"We strengthened security measures immediately upon recognizing the incident and are conducting continuous monitoring," TVING said, recommending that users change passwords on other services that share the same account credentials as TVING to prevent further damage.
TVING said it "deeply apologizes" for the incident and added that it will provide separate guidance later regarding remedy procedures for affected users.
