SK Telecom (017670.KS) has been included in the 2026 Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJ BIC), formerly the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World Index, marking its 17th consecutive year on the list, the company said Thursday.
DJ BIC is the new name adopted in September 2025 for the previous DJSI. The index is published annually by S&P Global, the global credit ratings agency.
The evaluation covered about 2,500 companies with the largest market capitalizations worldwide, with the top 10 percent in each industry earning a place on the World Index. Only seven telecommunications companies globally were included, and SK Telecom is the only Korean carrier among them.
SK Telecom said the recognition reflects company-wide efforts including strengthening board-centered responsible management, advancing supply chain environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs, reorganizing its climate governance framework, and enhancing industrial safety and health management. The board-centered responsible management drew particular attention. SK Telecom's board of directors held 17 meetings in 2024 with a 100 percent attendance rate, closely overseeing management issues.
"Having been included in the DJ BIC World Index for such a long time, we plan to continue advancing our sustainable management to meet both internal and external evaluations and expectations," said Eom Jong-hwan, head of SK Telecom's Sustainability Management Office. "We will lead the way in creating sustainable growth together with our customers."
