SOOP will operate the qualifier to determine which League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) team will compete in the Esports World Cup (EWC).
According to the IT industry on the 5th, SOOP will operate and broadcast live the EWC LCK qualifier, which began the previous day and runs through the 26th of this month. The EWC is a club-based esports tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will open in July. Gen.G Esports, last year's EWC champion, will participate as an invited team. This qualifier will select two additional teams to compete on the EWC stage.
The Korean broadcast of the qualifier will feature casters Chae Min-jun and Kim Kyu-hwan, along with analysts Kim Dong-jun and Lee Chae-hwan, known as "Prince." The English broadcast team includes casters Valdes, Atlus and Dgon, along with analysts Wolf and Aux.
The qualifier will be held both online and offline through the 26th of this month. Matches on the 4th, 5th, 12th, 18th and 19th will be played online, while the matches on the 25th and 26th, which will determine the final qualifying teams, will be held offline at the SOOP Colosseum in Sangam.
SOOP will broadcast the matches live not only in Korean but also in English, Traditional Chinese and Vietnamese. The Vietnamese broadcast will be delivered through the local partner platform "On Live."
