FuriosaAI, an artificial intelligence (AI) chip company, said Tuesday it has recruited Charlie Foo, who led the expansion of global AI infrastructure and enterprise ecosystems at Nvidia and Mellanox, as its senior adviser.
Foo is a commercialization expert in AI computing with more than 35 years of experience leading enterprise-scale infrastructure deployment and accelerated computing at global technology companies including IBM, Brocade, Mellanox and Nvidia. At Mellanox, he headed the Asia-Pacific and Japan region, and at Nvidia, he led the expansion of the enterprise and partner ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region. Foo plans to support FuriosaAI's global growth strategy in his new role as senior adviser. He will serve in an advisory capacity in areas directly linked to expanding global commercialization, including strategic partnership expansion, enterprise customer base growth and AI infrastructure ecosystem development.
"The next phase of AI depends not only on improving model performance, but also on how efficiently and at what scale it can be deployed," Foo said. "FuriosaAI is a rare company that combines differentiated architecture with mass-production execution, and I consider it one of the most promising companies positioned to tap into the global AI infrastructure market." June Paik, CEO of FuriosaAI, said, "As the company enters a full-fledged growth phase based on the mass production of RNGD, world-class talent with global market experience is joining us. We expect Charlie Foo's arrival to further accelerate our strategic expansion and partnership building in the global market."
