SK Broadband will train its entire workforce as AI experts, aiming to become "an organization that works with AI."
Building on the foundational capabilities it established for AI adoption last year, the company plans to make this year the first year of "AX (AI transformation) innovation" that delivers tangible business results.
SK Broadband said Thursday that it will begin full-scale operation of the "AI Agent Lab," an intensive AI training program for all employees running from March through October this year.
The goal of the program is to more than double the number of "AI Performers," employees with intermediate or higher AI proficiency, from the current 9% of the workforce to 20%, or 400 people. In addition, the company plans to have all employees complete the entry-level "AI Learner" course by the end of this year, spreading a company-wide culture of working with AI and elevating the AI capabilities of both individuals and the organization.
The training program will utilize the latest AI tools such as Gemini and Dify. Through this, at least 400 customized AI work tools are expected to be created within the company. Employees will be able to proactively select, learn and apply the tools best suited to the characteristics of their own work.
SK Broadband has established customized AI leadership development as a mandatory course for every level, from new hires to executives and team leaders. The company has concentrated organizational capabilities so that the entire company can operate as a single AI team, including hosting forums for regional business sites. It is also strengthening management of its AI talent pool by further advancing its "AI Certification System." The company plans to spread AI utilization culture across the board by sharing best practices in real time through the visualization of AI usage status.
SK Broadband has set "Working with AI" and "Dynamic SKB" as the key themes of its organizational culture this year. "If 2025 was a process of becoming familiar with AI, 2026 will be the year when all employees become AI experts and AI becomes the standard way of working," said Min Boo-sik, head of SK Broadband's Corporate Culture Center. "We will establish a culture in which employees themselves develop AI agents to innovate productivity, thereby creating tangible business value."
