NHN Waffle Flat, the senior care subsidiary of NHN, and Aiclo, an artificial intelligence oral healthcare company, are partnering to build an "AI Smart Home Care" system.
NHN announced the partnership agreement with Aiclo on Wednesday. The AI Smart Home Care initiative aims to build a platform that supports independent living through 24-hour life-integrated care by combining various smart devices and AI technology in the actual home environments of care recipients. The project is being carried out as part of the "AX-Sprint" program, a welfare sector AI application rapid commercialization support initiative promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Under the agreement, NHN will provide AI infrastructure capable of stably processing and analyzing large-scale health data, while its senior care subsidiary NHN Waffle Flat will handle actual service development and operation based on its "Waffle Flat AI Life Support Worker" platform. The Waffle Flat AI Life Support Worker is a smartphone-based AI care platform that comprehensively manages seniors' safety, welfare check-ins, health, daily living, and emotional wellbeing. The platform implemented a user experience of conversing with female life support workers in their 50s from actual care settings through AI human technology, and has verified its effectiveness with a 98% app usage rate among seniors.
Aiclo will provide oral health monitoring and AI analysis data within the AI Smart Home environment. Aiclo's AI oral examination solution "HomeDen" is a service that can examine oral health using only photos taken with a smartphone, with AI learning conducted based on more than 8 million dental data records obtained from dental clinics nationwide.
NHN plans to continue expanding its partnership network for building the AI Smart Home Care system, following earlier agreements with Kakao Healthcare, Mark Nova, and Healthmax. "Through this partnership, we will implement a prevention-focused integrated care model by detecting oral diseases early among seniors and vulnerable populations and strengthening connections with dental specialists," said Kim Jun-bae, CEO of Aiclo.
"This partnership allows us to bring oral health, which was previously a blind spot in care services, into the realm of daily management and support integrated care," said Hwang Sun-young, Director of NHN's Legal Policy Group and CEO of NHN Waffle Flat. "We will work to build an AI Smart Home ecosystem by combining each company's core competencies and develop a care model that aligns with the Ministry of Health and Welfare's policy direction."
