KT (030200.KS), South Korea's leading telecommunications company, announced on January 13 the launch of 'Genie TV Tab 4,' a tablet-type IPTV device that allows users to freely enjoy real-time channels and VOD content.
The Genie TV Tab 4 features significantly enhanced content accessibility and smart functions. Through the Genie TV widget function, users can instantly watch popular VOD content with a single click from the home screen without launching a separate application. The device also comes equipped with Google's latest artificial intelligence model Gemini, enabling users to conveniently handle content searches and everyday information inquiries through voice commands.
The Genie TV Tab 4 maintains the same 11-inch screen and 7,040mAh battery as its predecessor while adding support for 25W fast charging, improving both usability and portability. The device is available in a single gray color option with a retail price of 379,500 won (approximately $280, including VAT). It offers 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage, with external storage support of up to 2TB.
Existing KT IPTV subscribers can use the Genie TV Tab 4 as an additional TV by adding 8,800 won per month to their TV plan (based on the Genie TV Essence 3-year contract for multiple devices). Customers who wish to purchase the device separately can receive up to 144,000 won discount on device installment payments during the contract period when subscribing to KT's mobile plan 'Samsung Choice' (based on a 2-year contract). Purchases and subscriptions are available through KT stores nationwide, the official online mall 'KT.com,' and customer service centers.
