Coupang said it obtained a full confession from the person responsible for a data breach and retrieved all devices used in the leak, following government instructions.
The company also secured important facts about the leaked customer information, according to sources.
"We immediately submitted new facts, statements, and equipment obtained from the information leaker to the government," Coupang said in a press release Wednesday.
The statement came as the e-commerce giant responded to the government's rebuttal, which called Coupang's previous announcement a "unilateral claim." Coupang had announced Tuesday that it obtained a confession from the leaker and retrieved the equipment used in the hacking.
