Lee Jung-hoo recorded three hits in his first game of the Major League Baseball (MLB) second half.
Lee started as the sixth-batting right fielder in an away game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington, on the 18th (Korea time). Batting four times that day, Lee collected three hits and scored two runs.
With this game, Lee climbed one spot in the National League batting rankings, from fifth to fourth. He also increased his games with three or more hits to nine.
Thanks to Lee's performance, his team, the San Francisco Giants, secured a three-game winning streak and maintained fourth place in the National League West.
The result has led to expectations that Lee, who slumped late in the first half, will perform well in the second half. It was the first time in 39 days that Lee recorded three hits in a game, following the June 9 game against the Washington Nationals.
