Shinhan Financial Group will host the third Shinhan Donghae Men's Amateur Golf Championship at Gochang CC for four days starting on the 14th, the group said on the 10th.
The tournament, hosted by Shinhan Financial Group and organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA), will bring together 112 of Korea's top amateur players. Among them are Shinhan Financial Group-sponsored players Kim Min-soo, ranked No. 1 in the KGA rankings and winner of the 110th Japan Amateur Golf Championship, and Yoo Min-hyuk, a two-time champion of the first and second tournaments.
The event will be played as a four-round, 72-hole (par 72) stroke play competition, with the top 66 players advancing to the main round after two preliminary rounds.
Scholarships will be awarded to the top finishers, and the final winner will receive a berth in the 42nd Shinhan Donghae Open, to be held at Jack Nicklaus GC in Songdo, Incheon, starting September 10.
"Through this tournament, we hope the next generation of players who will lead Korean golf can grow," a Shinhan Financial official said. "Based on the operating philosophy of the Shinhan Donghae Open, which spans more than 40 years, we will continue our support for nurturing promising young golfers."
