GTSN, a screen golf simulator company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korea Disabled Veterans Association to promote the rehabilitation and welfare of national merit recipients and expand access to park golf, the company said Wednesday.
The agreement was pursued to establish a community sports program that allows elderly national merit recipients to exercise and interact regularly while reducing physical strain. The two sides plan to explore ways to introduce indoor and outdoor park golf using veterans affairs infrastructure such as veterans halls and idle spaces, and to jointly operate programs that members can participate in daily.
Key areas of cooperation include developing and operating park golf rehabilitation and welfare programs for national merit recipients, introducing and operating screen park golf services, running health promotion and leisure welfare programs for members, utilizing veterans affairs infrastructure and business spaces, and jointly operating and promoting veterans culture programs. Creating a barrier-free environment, generating jobs for members, and expanding social participation were also included in the cooperation tasks.
GTSN plans to provide experience, education, and operational support using its indoor park golf system, "Play Park Golf." Through this, the company aims to support the health management, leisure activities, and social interaction of its elderly members.
The Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korea Disabled Veterans Association carries out projects to protect the rights and improve the welfare of disabled national merit recipients, centered on 31 city and county chapters within the province. It operates rehabilitation sports, health promotion, and education and culture programs, with membership standing at 15,081 as of March this year.
"This agreement will serve as an opportunity to apply 'Play Park Golf' to expanding national merit recipients' participation in community sports and social interaction," GTSN CEO Park Hyun-chul said. "We will continue to expand social contribution activities that utilize sports simulator technology and content."
