Sports marketing firm Next Creative announced Monday that South Korean national short track speed skater Kim Min-ji (Korea National Sport University) has signed a management contract with the company.
Kim is regarded as a next-generation prospect poised to lead South Korea's women's short track program. She has been recognized for her growth potential based on international results, including gold medals at the Junior World Cup and the World Championships.
Kim was selected for the senior national team for the first time in her career through the national team qualifiers for the 2026-2027 short track season, marking the start of her full-fledged senior career. In the women's 1,500 meters at the first national team qualifier, she left a strong impression by finishing first in every race from the preliminaries to the final.
Kim's greatest strengths are her strong endurance and stable race management. She excels at aggressively competing for the lead from the early stages of a race while maintaining her pace until the later stages, and her bold outside-lane overtaking ability using instantaneous speed is also considered a strength.
"As I begin a new challenge with my first selection to the senior national team, I want to show that I can grow further with a sense of responsibility," Kim said. "I will do my best to advance toward a bigger stage together with Next Creative and grow into a skater who lives up to expectations."
