Osu Park Golf Course in Imsil County, North Jeolla Province, is a leading park golf course in the Honam region, with 27 holes spreading expansively along open fields and a riverside. 27 Holes Spread Across a Wide Site — A Course With Outstanding Openness
Osu Park Golf Course was built in the area around 2132 Chunghyo-ro, Osu-myeon, Imsil County, North Jeolla Province. Construction began in March 2021 with a total project cost of 6.4 billion won, and it was completed on May 7, 2024. At the time of construction, it was known as "Uigyeon Park Golf Course," but it is now called Osu Park Golf Course (Osu Uigyeon Park Golf Course).
The total area is 43,350 square meters (about 13,113 pyeong), with three courses — A, B and C — comprising 27 holes in total. Course A measures 595 meters, Course B 560 meters and Course C 615 meters, for a total length of 1,770 meters.
After being certified last year as the Korea Park Golf Association's 61st official course, it was listed as the 61st official park golf course nationwide and the third in North Jeolla Province. It has now established itself as Imsil's signature recreational sports destination, drawing about 4,000 visitors each month.
The biggest feature of Osu Park Golf Course is the sense of openness made possible by its wide site. The spacing between holes is generous, and most courses have no out-of-bounds (OB) lines, reducing psychological pressure. Beginners can swing boldly, and the low likelihood of losing a ball makes it well suited for a relaxed round.
However, a wide course does not necessarily favor long hitting. Because the course itself is relatively flat without many large undulations, accurate direction and distance control determine the score more than a single long-distance shot. Rather than aiming for excessive distance, an effective strategy is to attack the center of the fairway steadily and place the next shot in an advantageous position.
In particular, since the spacing between holes is wide, keeping a low trajectory helps in sections that are easily affected by the wind. Around the green, delicate distance control matters more than strong putting, and overall, this is a course where minimizing mistakes leads to better results than aggressive play.
Key Guide to Check Before Use
Osu Park Golf Course offers excellent access, located near the Osu IC on the Honam Expressway. It can be conveniently reached not only from North Jeolla Province but also from Gwangju, South Jeolla, and the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions via the expressway.
Use is available through phone reservation, and on-site applications are also accepted. Operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a regular closing every Monday. However, since the operating schedule may change due to weather conditions, turf management or facility maintenance, it is advisable to check whether the course is open before visiting.
The usage fee is 3,000 won for Imsil residents and 5,000 won for non-residents. Those aged 65 and older and people with disabilities receive a discounted fee of 1,500 won for residents and 2,500 won for non-residents. For smooth operations, use is limited to once per day for up to three hours.
Basic amenities including a management office, restrooms and a large parking lot are also provided, and users must prepare their own personal equipment such as clubs and balls.
The course also serves as the venue for the Imsil N Cheese Cup National Park Golf Tournament held each autumn. The tournament, which draws enthusiasts from across the country, is held in conjunction with the Imsil N Cheese Festival, establishing itself as sports tourism content where visitors can enjoy both park golf and the region's signature festival.

After finishing a round, it is also worth touring Imsil's leading attractions. At the Imsil Cheese Theme Park, within driving distance, visitors can enjoy cheese-making experiences, exhibitions and various cultural programs. As the birthplace of Korea's cheese industry, it is a leading attraction where visitors can experience the history and culture of Imsil in one place.
The Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site, a three-minute drive from the course, is considered Korea's only tourist attraction specialized for companion dogs. Built on the legend of the loyal dog "Osu Dog," the site features a dog playground, walking trails and water play facilities, as well as a public leisure campground where visitors can stay with their pets. Visitors can encounter the history and culture of the Osu region by touring the Uigyeon Monument and the Folktale Park, and the site is also popular with family visitors as it offers both rest and experiences alongside companion dogs.
Every October, the Imsil N Cheese Festival, representing Imsil, is also held. Based on the history of Imsil, which began Korea's first cheese production in 1967, it is one of Korea's leading rural festivals, featuring cheese-making experiences, large cheese and pizza making, parades, performances and the sale of agricultural specialty products.
