Ido Estate, a comprehensive real estate operating company, said Sunday it will host the "4th Club D Amateur Eco Championship" for four days starting June 23 at Club D The Players in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. Seo Kyo-rim, who won two titles on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour this season, was the 2024 champion of the tournament.
Held under the slogan "Where the Legend Begins," the tournament is hosted by Ido Estate and organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA). Hangang Asset Management, an alternative investment firm specializing in real estate and infrastructure, and the Didimdol Foundation, a public-interest corporation, are participating as co-sponsors.
About 180 of Korea's top junior players, including members of the national team reserve squad, will compete in the tournament. The competition will be played as a 72-hole stroke play format over four rounds for both men and women. Club D The Players, where the tournament is held, features a course that preserves natural forests and rock terrain in their original form.
The tournament has fully introduced a "walking play" format, in which players move without using carts. The organizers plan to build a competition environment under the same conditions as the tour professional stage, comprehensively testing not only the players' skills but also their physical stamina, mental strength, and course management abilities. As in professional tournaments, tour vans from each golf brand will provide on-site support.
"The Club D Amateur Eco Championship is a venue for growth that provides nourishment so that domestic junior players can leap onto the global stage," Ido Estate Vice Chairman Choi Jung-hoon said. "We will spare no support so that the promising prospects who will lead the future of Korean golf can fully prove their capabilities."
