Song Se-ra (Busan Metropolitan City Hall), the standard-bearer of Korean epee fencing, won an individual bronze medal at the Asian Fencing Championships.
Song finished third in the women's individual epee event at the 2026 Asian Fencing Championships in New Delhi, India, on Saturday, behind Irina Bakaldina of Kazakhstan and Kaylin Hsieh of Hong Kong.
Song, ranked third in the world in women's individual epee, had aimed for a second consecutive individual title at the Asian Championships following last year's competition, but fell to Bakaldina 7-15 in the semifinals to settle for third place.
In the men's individual foil event held the same day, Yun Jung-hyun and Lim Cheol-woo (both of Hwaseong Special City Hall) each claimed a bronze medal.
Having collected one gold, one silver and four bronze medals in the individual events at this competition, Korean fencing aims for additional medals in the team events that begin Sunday.
