Samsung Lions infielder Lee Jae-hyun has been removed from the first-team roster due to a bone bruise.
"Lee Jae-hyun's back pain continued, so he underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination on the 12th, and the diagnosis showed that the bone bruise had not improved," the Samsung Lions said Friday. "Lee will rest for the time being and undergo a re-examination in two weeks to establish his future training plan."
Lee has appeared in 38 games this season, posting a .243 batting average with 8 home runs and 21 RBIs. He was recently selected for the national team for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The Samsung Lions also removed starting catcher Kang Min-ho from the roster after he showed a muscle strain in his left lower back.
The Lotte Giants called up four key players from their second team. The group includes outfielder Jeon Jun-woo, bullpen pitcher Jung Chul-won, catcher Yoo Kang-nam, and infielder Roh Jin-hyuk. The KT Wiz called up catcher Jang Sung-woo.
The Kiwoom Heroes appointed Jang Young-seok, a second-team (Futures) coach, to fill the position left by playing coach Lee Yong-kyu, who retired in disgrace following a drunk-driving accident.
