Lee's hitting streak, which began against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the 15th of last month, was halted at 18 games. His season batting average also dipped slightly from .338 to .333.
Starting in right field, Lee led off the bottom of the second inning and hit a groundout to first base against Chicago starting pitcher Javier Assad. In the bottom of the fourth with two outs and a runner on third, Lee hit a hard grounder, but it was caught by the second baseman for an out. In his third at-bat in the bottom of the seventh with one out, facing Chicago's left-handed sidearm pitcher Hoby Milner, he flied out to right field.
Atlanta Braves' Kim Ha-seong also returned to action after six days but went hitless. Starting as the No. 8 hitter and shortstop in the game against the New York Mets, Kim went 0-for-2 with one walk. His season batting average fell further to .093.
With the score tied 2-2 in the top of the second inning with no outs and runners on first and third, Kim drew a walk against Mets starter Nolan McLean in his first at-bat. In his second at-bat in the top of the fourth, Kim battled through nine pitches, fouling off three, but grounded out to third base. Atlanta lost to New York 5-7 that day.
