
On June 10, a day before the Mercedes-Benz 40th Korea Women's Open Golf Championship, the "Mercedes Future Champion's Dinner" was held at Lakewood Country Club in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, the tournament venue.
The meaningful dinner invited past champions who illuminated the tournament's history along with national team and amateur players who will lead the future of Korean women's golf, allowing them to mingle and dine across generations.
Defending champion Lee Dong-eun served as host, treating senior and junior players to a special course menu that actively reflected her own preferences. "It is meaningful and honorable to host this gathering with my seniors and juniors at the tournament that gave me the precious memory of my first professional victory," Lee said. "I hope this becomes a time to create good memories and connections, and I cheer for everyone to achieve good results in the main competition."
Shin Ji-yae, a two-time Korea Women's Open winner, said, "I was able to grow this much by following in the footsteps of excellent seniors." She added, "I too will fulfill my role as a good senior by setting an example for the juniors gathered here."

Attending the event as past champions were Lee Dong-eun, Shin Ji-yae, Ahn Sun-ju, Lee Da-yeon, Park Min-ji, Lim Hee-jeong, and Roh Seung-hee. National team members Koo Min-ji, Kim Kyu-bin, Park Seo-jin, Yang Yun-seo, Oh Su-min, and Yoon Kyu-ri attended, along with promising amateurs Kim Yeon-seo, Park Yul, Moon A-rin, Sung Hae-in, and Hyun Se-rin.
The Korea Women's Open is Korea's most prestigious national title tournament in women's golf, having shared the growth and history of Korean women's golf over the past 40 years. Mercedes-Benz Korea is participating as the title sponsor of the Korea Women's Open for three years, from this year through 2028.
The Mercedes-Benz 40th Korea Women's Open Golf Championship, whose excitement was heightened through the Mercedes Future Champion's Dinner, opened on June 11 at Lakewood Country Club.
