Kim Sei-young, who contended for the title at the US Women's Open, the second major of the women's golf season, has returned to the world's top 10.
In the women's golf world rankings announced Monday Korea time, Kim earned 4.75 points to rise one spot from the previous week to 10th. The result marked her return to the top 10 for the first time in seven weeks.
Kim boosted her ranking after finishing fifth at the US Women's Open held the previous day at Riviera Country Club (par 71) in Pacific Palisades, California. Jeon In-ji finished fourth at the tournament, climbing 54 spots from the previous week to 43rd.
Nelly Korda of the United States, who won the US Women's Open, firmly held onto her world No. 1 ranking. Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand and Kim Hyo-joo maintained second and third place, respectively. Charley Hull of England, the runner-up at the US Women's Open, rose to fourth, pushing Yin Ruoning of China down to fifth.
Seo Kyo-rim, who claimed her first career victory at the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour's Celltrion Queens Masters, climbed 18 spots in the world rankings to 62nd.
