Kim Si-woo recorded another top-10 finish, this time at the PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament, which carried a total purse of $20 million. It was his eighth top-10 of the season, the most on tour in that category.
In the fourth round held Saturday at Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72) in Dublin, Ohio, Kim shot a 6-under 66 with one eagle, five birdies and one bogey. He finished the tournament tied for 10th with a final total of 5-under 283.
Kim has made the cut in all 16 tournaments he has entered this season and has posted consistent results, recording top-10 finishes in half of them, or eight events. His eight top-10s lead the PGA Tour this season. Kim has also reached the top five five times, with two runner-up finishes, two third-place finishes and one fourth-place finish.
On the strength of this performance, Kim's world ranking rose one spot from 19th last week to 18th, his career best. He also added $535,000 in prize money from this tournament, bringing his season earnings to $6,575,361 (about 10.16 billion won). He currently ranks seventh in earnings.
The final day's play resumed with the remainder of the third round, which had not been completed the previous day due to bad weather, followed by the fourth round. Kim had completed all 18 holes of the third round the previous day, allowing him to focus solely on the fourth round.
Kim trimmed only one stroke through the 12th hole with two birdies and one bogey, but gained momentum afterward. He cut five strokes over the remaining six holes starting from the 13th. Im Sung-jae finished tied for 32nd at 2-over par.
The trophy went to J.T. Poston of the United States. Poston finished tied with Ryan Gerard of the United States at 12-under and secured the win by making par on the second playoff hole, edging Gerard, who missed his par putt. It was Poston's fourth career victory, with a winner's prize of $4 million (about 6.23 billion won).
Wyndham Clark of the United States finished third at 11-under, while Tommy Fleetwood of England and Sam Burns of the United States tied for fourth at 10-under. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler of the United States and No. 2 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland finished tied for 12th at 4-under.
