Serenity Gangchon Country Club, formerly known as Paganica CC, is drawing attention as the course evolves under new ownership and rebranding.
Located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Serenity Gangchon CC has undergone a major transformation since BFI Asset Management acquired it late last year, led by Kim Joo-young, chairman of Daom Holdings. Situated about 50 minutes from Seoul's Gangnam district and within close proximity to Gangchon IC on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway, the highly accessible course has recently reopened with a renewed look and now awaits feedback from golfers.
Serenity Gangchon, an 18-hole non-membership course, has changed in more than just name. The operator has upgraded course quality by replacing damaged fairway turf with heat-resistant Korean Zoysia grass, while reshaping the layout of several holes into more natural forms. Customer convenience has also been enhanced with the introduction of 70 custom-built new carts. The two-row carts feature spacious limousine-style heating and cooling seats, ceiling fans, wireless smartphone charging devices and large storage space.
The clubhouse interior has been transformed into a community, culture and arts platform that combines community and business functions through a minimalist spatial design. Installation of lighting facilities across all holes is also underway.

Chairman Kim Joo-young of Daom Holdings is leading the changes and improvements based on his experience of acquiring and enhancing the value of Podo CC in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, and Serenity CC in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
