Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants extended his hitting streak to 10 consecutive games, showcasing his red-hot form at the plate.
Lee went 1-for-1 with one RBI as a pinch-hitter in the Giants' road game against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Tuesday (Korea time) in Major League Baseball (MLB).
The performance marked his first 10-game hitting streak of the season. He is now just one game shy of his personal best of 11 consecutive games, which he set in the 2024 season. He also recorded a 10-game hitting streak in the 2025 season. His season batting average rose slightly to .307 (61 hits in 199 at-bats).
Lee has been swinging an even hotter bat since returning from the injured list, where he had been placed due to a back muscle strain. In five games since his return, he has gone 13-for-20 with three RBIs.
With the Giants trailing 2-4 in the top of the eighth inning with two outs and runners on first and second, Lee stepped to the plate as a pinch-hitter. He swung at the first pitch from Milwaukee's third pitcher, Abner Uribe, and lined a single to left field between the third baseman and shortstop, driving in one run. The hit cut the deficit to one and set the stage for a comeback, but the next batter flew out to center field, halting the rally.
San Francisco gave up four runs in the bottom of the eighth and lost 3-8. The defeat dropped the Giants' season record to 23-38, leaving them tied with the Colorado Rockies for last place in the National League (NL) West.
