Watching a 2026 FIFA World Cup match in person in New York will cost at least 2.1 million won.
According to an analysis by U.S. broadcaster NBC of stadium ticket prices and surrounding accommodation costs in U.S. host cities, released Tuesday, the average price of cheap seats for matches held in New York is $1,399 (approximately 2.12 million won), the highest among the 11 cities. Los Angeles followed at $911, with Kansas City third at $741. San Francisco offered the cheapest stadium experience, with low-priced seats averaging $253. New York is roughly 5.5 times more expensive than San Francisco.
Boston has the highest hotel rates near its match venue. A two-night stay near Gillette Stadium, home of the NFL's New England Patriots, costs an average of $973 (approximately 1.47 million won). The combined average cost of one hotel room and one match ticket is just over $600 in Miami but exceeds $2,000 in New York and New Jersey.
"Since ticket sales began last year, controversy over the high cost of attendance has continued. Depending on which match you watch, the total cost could be equivalent to a month's rent in Chicago," NBC noted. "The most expensive ticket is for the Brazil-Morocco match on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The minimum ticket price is close to $1,400."
