Mexico, the host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and South Korea's second group-stage opponent, has announced its final 26-man squad for the tournament.
The Mexican Football Federation unveiled the roster for the North and Central American tournament on Sunday (Korea time). The list includes veteran goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa (AEL Limassol), Raul Jimenez of English Premier League (EPL) side Fulham, and teenage midfielder Gilberto Mora (Tijuana). Naturalized players also made the cut, including Spanish-born Alvaro Fidalgo (Real Betis) and Colombian-born forward Julian Quinones (Al-Qadsiah).
With his sixth consecutive World Cup appearance, Ochoa joins Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) as the only players to have featured in six tournaments.
The Mexican squad also features 12 players from the domestic league. Among them, five play for CD Guadalajara, whose home venue Akron Stadium will host the second group-stage match between Mexico and South Korea.
Mexico will play a friendly against Serbia in Toluca on the 5th before opening the World Cup against South Africa on the 12th. The team will then face South Korea on the 19th and the Czech Republic on the 25th in the group stage.
