Jaein Falls Park Golf Course, located near the Hantan River Dam in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province, is drawing attention as a new round destination for park golfers in the Seoul metropolitan area. Built between the Jaein Falls Auto Camping Site and the Water Culture Center, the course is being recognized as an "open sports space," combining scenic natural surroundings, strategic course design, and pathways considerate of people with disabilities and those with limited mobility. Recently expanded from 18 holes to 27, the course now offers a more comfortable environment for rounds.
A 27-Hole Course Testing Precision, With Special Programs for the Disabled
Located in the area of 127-1 Gomun-ri, Yeoncheon-eup, Yeoncheon County, Jaein Park Golf Course is operated by the Yeoncheon County Facilities Management Corporation. The 27,655-square-meter (about 8,366-pyeong) site features a total of 27 holes across three courses — A, B, and C — with nine holes each.
The course is gaining attention not just as a community sports facility but as a public-style park golf course where both disabled and non-disabled people can play together. Yeoncheon County has set aside special operating hours every Thursday morning for park golf enthusiasts with disabilities, opening all 27 holes exclusively for them.
Course A, with a total length of 619 meters, is relatively flat and short, allowing beginners to enjoy a round without pressure. However, players should not let their guard down. In sections with narrow fairways, an off-line shot can make the next shot difficult, making a stable tee shot important.
Course B, at 662 meters, is the longest of the three. With a mix of hills and dogleg holes, and out-of-bounds (OB) lines adjacent to the back of certain holes, players should focus on distance control rather than aggressive shots. Particularly on downhill sections, the ball's run can extend further than expected, requiring fine power adjustment.
Course C, totaling 622 meters, looks relatively comfortable but features many holes that demand precise approach shots. Without considering the slopes and subtle undulations around the holes, players can easily lose strokes even on short putts. Rather than aiming for long shots, players should focus on stable shots targeting "two-on, one-putt."
